Employer branding video production is how organisations in Singapore turn their company culture, business values, and people into video content that attracts stronger job applicants and keeps existing employees engaged. At Vivid Media, employer branding video production is one of the ways we support HR and marketing teams who want to show what it’s like to work at their organisation.
This article covers what employer branding video production involves and why it matters when hiring prospective employees, the types of employer branding video production we have covered thus far, and how Vivid Media approaches it.
What Is Employer Branding Video Production
Employer branding video production refers to video content created specifically to communicate an organisation’s culture, values, mission and vision to a target audience of prospective and current employees. Unlike a product advertisement or a corporate profile video aimed at clients, employer branding video production is built around the experience of working at a company.
This typically includes formats like recruitment videos, day-in-the-life features, employee testimonials, and leadership or fireside chat content. Since authenticity is key, employer branding video production works best when the people appearing on screen are genuine employees of the company instead of actors.
Why Employer Branding Video Production Matters For Hiring
According to an article released by the Manpower Research & Statistics Department of the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Singapore ranked 1st in world competitiveness out of 67 economies. Singapore has also placed 1st in terms of Labour Market Competitiveness in 2024, due to broad improvements in Labour Market indicators.
Business executives reported favourable perceptions of Singapore’s workforce, citing the strong availability of Competent Senior Managers and Skilled Labour, alongside low levels of Brain Drain. More importantly, the high ranks for Employee Training and Attracting & Retaining Talents as a priority in firms, implementation of Apprenticeships, and high Worker Motivation points to ongoing opportunities to further strengthen Singapore’s ability to nurture and attract skilled professionals. These same priorities (training, development, motivated teams) are exactly what employer branding video production is best placed to show instead of simply stating. In such a competitive environment, employer branding becomes a unique differentiating factor. Companies that invest in authentic and well-crafted employer branding videos can showcase their commitment to employee development and training, as well as the workplace culture.
Employer branding video production allows organisations to visually communicate their values and growth opportunities, and for employees to share their experiences. When potential hires see genuine stories of learning and motivation, it helps reinforce the perception that the company has their employees’ best interests at heart. This will align perfectly with Singapore’s focus on employee training and talent development.
Types Of Employer Branding Video Production Formats Vivid Media Has Produced
Employer branding video production covers a range of formats depending on the client’s hiring goals, timeline and budget.
Recruitment and talent videos
These videos feature a diverse range of employees across roles and seniority levels, showcasing authentic day-in-the-life snippets, employee testimonials, and leadership messages that help prospective candidates picture themselves as part of the team.
To attract top talent, organisations in Singapore are looking to create their own employer branding videos and put a spotlight on real employee stories, behind-the-scenes office life, as well as the mission and vision of the company.
Through showing real working environments and daily responsibilities, this A*STAR IME internship video gives potential candidates a genuine sense of what to expect and helps them envision themselves as part of the team. Not only does this reduce uncertainty before applying, but it also humanises the brand, creating a connection that resonates with Gen Z talent seeking authenticity and meaningful work experiences.
Testimonial and interview-style videos
Genuine, on-camera testimonials from employees at different levels of seniority help build trust with candidates who are evaluating whether your organisation’s values match their own.
This Cushman & Wakefield talent campaign, featuring employees like Maximillian Tan, shares personal stories of growth, teamwork, and purpose within the company. Through these authentic voices, the video captures the organisation’s culture and commitment to its people, helping potential hires see how they could thrive in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Corporate brand videos
Corporate brand video production showcases what the company does by bringing its operations and culture to life on screen.
As with the corporate video produced for Wilmar International, such videos often highlight manufacturing facilities, office spaces, and team meetings, giving audiences a behind-the-scenes look at how the organisation runs. By showing dynamic footage of employees in action, these videos communicate the company’s scale, capabilities and values in a way that builds trust with clients, partners, and prospective talent alike.
Office walkthroughs
Whether your organisation has recently moved, refreshed its workspace, or simply wants to showcase its current office, employer branding video production can highlight how the environment supports both collaboration and culture. This often includes interviews with stakeholders alongside close-up shots of the space itself.
Our office launch video for KidSTART was built specifically around their new workspace, featuring stakeholder interviews about how the redesigned space supports close collaboration between teams.
Leadership and founders’ video
These help senior management connect directly with employees, and serve as both an internal culture-building tool and, when shared externally, a way to demonstrate approachable leadership to prospective hires. Beyond that, videos spotlighting founders also reveal the roots of the company by sharing its origin story, vision and the values that have shaped its growth.
This founders’ video that our team created for Eng Leong Medallic captures how a legacy brand story can be brought to life through heartfelt interviews, purposeful visuals, and thoughtful editing. It showcases the company’s heritage and craftsmanship while reflecting the pride and passion that have shaped its journey over the years.
Each of these formats can either stand alone or be combined into a broader employer branding video production campaign, depending on how many touchpoints your HR team needs across the hiring funnel.
How Vivid Media Approaches Employer Branding Video Production

Because HR and Marketing Communications (Marcom) teams understand their target pool of candidates far better than any external vendor can, we build our creative approach around your input on the audience, tone and messages that matter most, and then bring our production expertise to the execution.
A typical employer branding video production project with Vivid Media covers the entire process from concept to completion. We begin with creative conceptualisation, working closely with your HR or Marcom team to define a clear story angle, whether it’s focused on company culture, diversity, career growth trajectory, or specific departments. From there, we support talent and location sourcing by identifying the right employees to feature and selecting authentic workplace environments, avoiding the need for stock footage or actors.
Filming is carried out by our experienced crew using broadcast-grade cameras, lighting, and professional audio equipment, including wireless microphone systems, to ensure a polished result across any location. Where required, interview-style segments can also be filmed in our Kallang studio, providing a controlled and reliable setting. Post-production typically delivers a first draft within 7 to 10 working days, with structured revision rounds to ensure alignment with internal stakeholders before the final cut.
If needed, employer branding video production can also be paired with corporate photography, such as corporate portrait headshots, to maintain a consistent visual identity across your careers page and recruitment materials.
Insights From The Vivid Media Team
To bring these production principles to life on set, we asked our videographer, Low Day Shaan, to share what actually goes into filming an employer branding video.
How do you capture natural moments when employees are not used to being filmed?
Low Day Shaan, Videographer: “It usually starts with helping them feel at ease. I’ll first spend a bit of time making small talk and getting to know them before anything rolls. Once they’re more relaxed and comfortable, and less conscious of the camera, we gradually ease into filming. And that’s when you start to get more natural expressions and genuine moments instead of something that feels forced or unnatural.”
What are small details during filming that people don’t notice but actually make a big difference?
Low Day Shaan, Videographer: “I would say sound is a huge detail that often gets overlooked. If a space is too echoey, it can completely change how the environment feels on screen and even give off the wrong impression of the location itself. We also pay attention to where the subject is positioned and whether we should capture ambient sound, depending on the context of the project. So, these small audio decisions really shape how authentic and polished the final video feels.”
From your perspective, what kind of shots or moments make the biggest impact?
Low Day Shaan, Videographer: “Interview-driven shots tend to carry the most weight because that’s where the story comes from. B-roll footage is important, but it works best when it directly supports what is being said. For example, if someone mentions the company or a specific value, cutting to a relevant visual like a close-up of the company logo helps to reinforce the message and makes it more memorable.”
What’s the hardest type of person to film for an employer branding video?
Low Day Shaan, Videographer: “People who are naturally less talkative can be the most challenging, especially if they don’t elaborate much on their answers. In those situations, it takes a bit more guidance and prompting to draw out their thoughts and get responses that feel complete and engaging on camera.”
Employer Branding Video Production Beyond Recruitment
While recruitment is the most common driver, employer branding video production serves more purposes beyond hiring campaigns. Content originally produced for candidates, like day-in-the-life features or leadership interviews, is often repurposed for onboarding new joiners, internal town hall meetings, and annual reports. If your organisation runs internal or external events where employer brand messaging is important, our event photography and videography services can capture culture-building moments like team building events, staff appreciation events, or milestone celebrations, which often become source material for future employer branding video production.

For organisations that also need broader company messaging alongside recruitment content, our wider corporate video production capabilities cover formats such as leadership speeches and CSR content, allowing your employer brand story to be told consistently across multiple video formats.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long should an employer branding video be?
Most employer branding videos for recruitment purposes works best between 60 to 90 seconds for social and careers page use, though longer 3 to 5 minute versions are common for internal use or detailed department spotlights. Longer footage can also be cut into multiple shorter clips for different platforms.
Do we need to use professional actors?
No. Effective employer branding video production relies on real employees instead of actors, since authenticity is really what resonates with candidates evaluating a company’s team culture and working environment.
Can employer branding videos be filmed at our office?
Yes. Most employer branding video production is filmed on location at your workplace to capture a genuine environment, although interview segments can also be filmed in a controlled studio setting where a cleaner backdrop is preferred.
How is employer branding video production different from a standard recruitment ad?
A recruitment ad is often a single promotional message, while employer branding video production takes a broader, ongoing content approach that covers multiple formats like testimonials, day-in-the-life features and leadership interviews that collectively paints a picture of your workplace over time.
