Corporate Video Ideas

Corporate videos are a vital part of a company’s branding and image. There are so many kinds of corporate videos companies can create to build awareness for their brand – be it a commercial, an interview, a training video, a testimonial video or even a short film. Choosing the right tone for the video is essential in portraying the personality of your company.

Most companies go for an interview with a B-roll style of approach when taking on a corporate video. Despite its bad reputation for being boring and dry, with the incorporation of the right elements these videos can actually be a lot more engaging than you think! Furthermore, the technique is straightforward and highly effective – you see the faces of the company and understand the goods and services provided.

In this article we’ll explore different kinds of corporate video ideas and observe how they communicate their message to the audience. Feel free to contact us using the form on this page for a discussion – we would love to explore what we can create together!

Reaching the Audience with a Touching Story

Interview Video Reference, Produced by Vivid Snaps.

In this video, we sat down with Yvonne Ang and heard her story – a cancer survival story and how having insurance coverage has absolutely benefited her. The interview with Yvonne and her insurance agent was done at a studio – there was a particular that we were striving for in order to complement the story.

Choosing the right locations for the interview is essential for your video – some prefer the professional but homey studio look but some may opt for a more natural looking space outdoors. There was a storyboard done up before the shoot to make sure the team does not miss out any shots needed in the final edit. In this case, it was important to stick to the planned schedule as well because the last B-roll shot of the day was at the beach, and we needed to capture the shot when there was still light.

Our B-rolls were also captured in 50fps to give the editor the option of slowing it down in post – the speed of the footage often helps in pacing the video with the person’s speech or relate the visuals better with the topic. Yvonne’s message is sincere and heartfelt, and the video’s message about the importance of having critical illness insurance carries through.

Interviews with B-rolls

Bizlink’s Work Therapy Programme video produced by Vivid Snaps together with our client uses a similar interview and B-rolls technique, which works effectively for their case. Knowing your target audience helps to decide which format the video will be shot in.

Bizlink is a centre dedicated to serving disadvantaged individuals, and their target audience for the video would probably be those individuals or their caregivers. The video is simple and straightforward – we get to see the environment the individuals will be working in, the kind of tasks assigned to them, and the training staff present at the facility. These visuals help the viewer make an informed decision about joining or sending their child to the organisation.

Animated Corporate Video

Gush is a company in Singapore selling sustainable air-purifying paints – odourless indoor paints that purifies the air. In this case, the video illustrates how the paints actually help to break down bacteria, mold spores, odours upon contact.

As the content can get rather technical, animation with sound effects definitely helps us understand the process better. The pastel colour palette used in the animation is pleasing to the eye as well, and even if you did not follow through with the whole technical explanation of how the purifying paints work, you leave with an overall impression of the positive environmental impacts of Gush’s products.

Collaboration Between Brands Video

Brand Collaboration Video Reference, Not Produced by Vivid Snaps.

Local luxury teahouse TWG collaborates with Harper’s BAZAAR by creating a special tea blend “Teh BAZAAR” for Harper’s BAZAAR’s 20th Anniversary. As the beauty editor of Harper’s BAZAAR sat down with TWG’s Assistant Marketing Director for tea time, they discussed their companies’ progress and upcoming events to look forward to.

Two women having artisanal tea – the concept is simple and so elegantly carried out. Collaborating with brands work well in this case as the partnership brings art, fashion, elegance and class to the table.

Fantastic Blooper Reel

Blooper Reel Video Reference, Not Produced by Vivid Snaps.

The blooper reel of an old couple struggling with the line “Baked in a buttery flaky crust” has probably done more advertising than the actual commercial for Dysart’s Restaurant! The viral video features grandpa attempting to say the lines accurately while grandma gets increasingly frustrated at his blunders. The adorable couple is such a hit that there have been many recreations of the video on YouTube. Of course this isn’t planned but it’s a creative way of looking at what you have after the shoot and deciding what could work best!

Flashmob Video

British Airways and VisitBritain pulled off the ultimate flash mob at a shopping mall in Moscow. Various English characters entered the mall along with a giant Union flag suitcase. The flash mob aimed to invite people to Britain. Even the Queen and her corgis made an appearance! The video is fun and refreshing and serves as a very different kind of corporate video, definitely venturing out of the traditional video styles.

Play on Words Video

‘Reflections’ Video Reference, Not Produced by Vivid Snaps.

NIBC Bank created a video around the word ‘reflections’. The voice-over script for the video was wittily written, incorporating reflections into their companies’ goals and values. The visuals were created using a combination of mirrors, screens, reflections – the visuals tied in the voice-over well and overall created a strong message for the bank. Time for their reality to mirror your vision!

Show, Not Tell

Bruns is a developer and producer of exhibitions in The Netherlands. The video has no talking heads or voice-over, simply shows what the company does. Straightforward enough, they let the pictures do the talking and the video is edited with fast cuts and music, and the fast tempo keeps the audience engaged. Workers’ faces are also edited in with the video to make it personable.

Fast and Flashy

Flashy Video Reference, Not Produced by Vivid Snaps.

Bolt started from a small Estonian company to one of the fastest growing tech companies in Europe. Boasting 2 new business lines in just 5 months, the video is all about speed! Which reflects the company’s progress so far – Bolt’s video is extremely fast paced and cut with catchy graphics, there are absolutely no stagnant moments in the video. The video actually replays itself at supersonic speed at the start of the video, just to emphasize on how fast they actually are. Loaded with creative elements and original ideas, this corporate video brings across its message to you snappy and precise!

Conclusion

Corporate videos are essential for companies to market themselves and formulate their brand personalities to the world. There are so many possibilities to create a corporate video and it all depends on your message, your target audience, and the identity you want your audience to relate the company to.
